I just love my little batch of four-year-old grandkids. They say and do the funniest things. Yesterday, Staci told us the story of Goldilocks and the three bears. When the three bears discovered Goldilocks in the bed, they said, "That's okay because she was their cousin."
Grace told me I can come and visit her any time but I shouldn't walk because it would take me a day and another day and a day after that. She said, "You can drive a car, or take a plane or a really big boat!"
Ryan always wants me to snuggle and watch movies. He says, "Grandma, you can put your arm around me" and then when he leaves and comes back he says, "Grandma, you can put your arm around me again."
I love hearing Riley sing, "Don't wash my blanket today" She is always so full of smiles and giggles and I can't wait to see her again soon. What a bunch of fun we were blessed with in 2004!

Dedicated to all mothers everywhere
Before I was a mom...I slept as late as I wanted and never worried about how late I got to bed. I brushed my hair and teeth every day.
Before I was a mom...I cleaned my house each day. I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby. I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a mom...I never had been puked on, pooped on, spit on, chewed on, or peed on. I had complete control of my mind and thoughts. I slept all night.
Before I was a mom...I never held down a screaming child so that doctors could do tests or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours late at night watching my baby sleep.
Before I was a mom...I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a mom.
Before I was a mom...I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.
Before I was a mom...I never had gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was OK. I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment, or the satisfaction of being a mom. I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a mom.
And before I was a grandma...I didn't know that all those "mom" feelings more than doubled when you see that little bundle being held by "your baby."

Thanks to my kids and their spouses for being so wonderful!
